What does my field trip to the GRAMMY Museum entail?

After being greeted by the Museum's education department, all school groups will participate in a self-guided tour of the Museum Groups can choose to add on an education program or participate in a Museum- wide scavenger hunt.  If you need extra assistance or would prefer to have a docent-guided tour, please let us know in advance of your tour.

What days and times are available for school tours and recurring education programs?

Groups wishing to tour the Museum may do so on weekdays between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. All in person education programs can be scheduled on Thursday or Friday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. each day. Virtual education programs can be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please email education@grammymuseumms.org for any special requests outside of the listed times above.

Are there restrictions on group size?

To receive the school group rate, groups must contain 10 or more students. There must be at least 20 students in your group when booking an education program. All groups will be split into smaller pods in order to ensure social distancing as it relates to our COVID-19 occupancy limits. What grade levels are most appropriate for a tour and/or education program?

The Museum is perfect for students of all ages. Tours are easily adapted for grades PreK+ where most programs specifically target grades 3+. Stay tuned for updates as we develop more programming for K-2 and adults.

How do I schedule a field trip to GRAMMY Museum Mississippi?

You can schedule a field trip by clicking HERE to view the available dates and times. All schhol tours and education programs must be scheduled in advance.

 

How far in advance should I schedule a field trip?

Please schedule all field trips that include an education program no less than 2 weeks in advance. If your group would like a tour of the Museum only, please schedule atleast 3 days in advance.

How much does it cost to bring my class to GRAMMY Museum Mississippi?

School groups may tour GRAMMY Museum Mississippi for a discounted rate of $5 per student. There is a minimum requirement of 10 students to be able to receive the discounted school group rate.  The price of a “education program+tour” group is $8 per student. One teacher/chaperone is required for every 10 students and will be admitted at no cost. Additional chaperones will be charged the discounted adult group rate of $10 per person.

What form of payment is accepted when booking a field trip?

GRAMMY Museum Mississippi accepts American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Purchase Orders and school checks. Payment is required on the day of your tour for the estimated student number. Memberships do not apply to admission for school groups. Group admission must be paid in one (1) transaction with one (1) form of payment. Split transactions will not be permitted.

Please note for groups paying by check:  There are no refunds for students who cancel. We can offer vouchers should your numbers change.
 

May students bring a lunch?

Please let us know at least two weeks in advance if you plan on joining us for lunch. You are welcome to bring sack lunches to enjoy picnic style on our front porch OR pre-order lunches from a list of our approved vendors with prices ranging from $3-10 per student. You will receive a link to order your lunches via email after scheduling your tour, or you may access the form HERE. Due to the Museum's current COVID-19 safety protocols and in order to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local orders as it pertains to serving food & beverage, we require a minimum of 7 days to facilitate groups planning to have lunch onsite. This includes all food & beverage including sack lunches brought from the school or lunch orders placed through one of our approved catering vendors.

May I visit the Museum prior to coming with my students?

Educators are invited to bring a guest and enjoy the Museum at their leisure before bringing their students for a school tour or program. Educators must submit a valid school ID. Additional guests will be charged full price. Please email education@grammymuseumms.org in advance of your visit to receive extra materials!
