In honor of Black History Month, we will take students through different eras of African-American history and discuss the power of music in our Right to Write workshop. Students will learn about songs that have provided a backdrop to the trials and triumphs of African-Americans. Highlighting iconic songs that became synonymous with civil rights, we will examine how music still gives people a voice today. This workshop is recommended for grades 5+.
