GIBSON BUS TOUR

GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is excited to announce the arrival of the Gibson Bus and a special program with Don Crawford.

One of a fleet of entertainment coaches owned by Gibson Brands, Inc. worldwide is rolling onto our grounds.  These unique buses travel to music festivals, are utilized as green rooms, and offer guitar fans an opportunity to board and tour like their favorite musicians.  The bus houses artifacts which tell the story of Gibson, current guitar models, working amps, drums, memorabilia, and even a working piano.

Don Crawford, Bus Ambassador for Gibson Brands Inc. will be on hand to welcome visitors onto the bus and pass along a few stories from the road.  As coach operator of Gibson's fleet of luxurious buses, Don has seen it all.  From his days driving for Louis Armstrong to tours with the Grateful Dead and No Doubt.

From 11AM - 11:45 AM in the Museum's Sanders Soundstage, Don will give visitors an overview of the life of an entertainer coach driver and the Gibson Bus.  He will talk about Les Paul's time on the Gibson Bus and give a brief discussion of guitars (Gibson, The Professional owned by Les Paul and Charlie Christian's personal guitar owned by Les Paul) and other Les Paul artifacts.  A Q&A session will follow the discussion.

Jimmy Wysocki, the owner of priceless and historic guitars and memorabilia will also be in attendance.  He will bring a few of his guitars to the soundstage for display and discussion.
